 the Imo State rerun elections for the Okigwe senatorial seat and three Local Government Areas which is coming up on Saturday, the All Progressives Congress APC  has raised the alarm over an alleged plot by the Peoples Democratic Party PDP  to rig the polls.

Imo State Chairman of the APC, Dr. Hilary Eke, who briefed newsmen at the party secretariat in Owerri, on Wednesday, said prominent national chieftains of the PDP were the arrowheads of the plot to rig the elections.

The opposition party said the hierarchy of the ruling PDP at the national level had concluded plans to collude with INEC officials to rig the elections.

Eke, who boasted that the APC would win the elections, called on security agencies deployed to monitor the elections to ensure fraud-free elections.

But a stalwart of the PDP, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the APC was afraid of imminent defeat in the elections.
